After a long year of design, coding, crafting, writing, complaining, recreating, debugging, brainstorming, consulting, building and exploring, Blogware v1.0 has been released.
We've come along way over the last 400 or so days. The project was green lighted in February of 2003 and the real first post hit the system April 17, 2003. Since the launch of our public beta last summer, we've added thousands of users who have each made a huge contribution to their corner of the web. Very cool stuff.
Blogware wouldn't be where it is without the help of a whole bunch of people. Each of you made a significant contribution along the way and really helped us define what makes Blogware great;
Brad, Tom, Paul, Joe, Joey, Darryl, Elliot, Jacqui, Jessica, Tanja, Dave and his team, Kim and her team, Pat, Matt, Dmitry, Bret, John, Roland, Mark, everyone on #joiito that ever answered a dumb question of mine, David, Brock, Jamie, Lars, Bill, Chris, Jason, Esther, Doc, Marc & Dave.
To borrow a quote from Steve Martin, "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you..."
Lastly, but not leastly, hats off to the multitude of developers and visionaries that saw fit to document, open and promote their work. We couldn't have built Blogware without technologies and formats like XML-RPC, RSS, OpenReviews, the MetaWeblogAPI and their kin.
If you're interested, Yahoo! has our official release which will eventually be added to the "Press" section on www.tucowsinc.com...
As for me, I've got a new version to get out the door.
